课外补充背诵句子,提高英语书面表达能力

  摘 要:提高初中学生英语书面表达能力,每天背句子很关键。背句子是指背诵老师从课文中摘出的经典或老师根据课文内容结合学生实际生活编写的句子。编写句子要注意学生差别,注意趣味性等。

  英语书面表达是由句子构成的,句子的优劣直接影响整篇文章的质量,因此书面表达练习应从句子练起。如老师每天给学生补充10个句子让其背诵,第二天听写,下午将批改情况反馈给学生。如此,学生既掌握了重点短语,又熟悉了句子的语法结构,在写作过程中能够熟练运用,对写作起到积极作用。这样,学生在每周的本单元话题小作文中,就能使用一周来背诵的句子,完成作文。具体方法:
  一、摘重点句
  在刚开始教授一个新的单元时,如果本单元内容较难、较丰富,可以直接摘出课文中的重点句子让学生记忆背诵。
  课本中的文章是许多专家共同努力编写出来的,里面大多是经典的句子。摘出来后让学生背诵,会加深印象。如人教版九年级一单元,是有关学习方法的,本单元内容多,重点单词、短语和句型与学生实际生活很贴近,这就要求我们的学生熟练掌握并背诵书上原汁原味的句子。所以在本单元讲授前,可以让学生预习并背诵如下句子:
  Day (一)
  1. —How can we become good learners?
  —We become good learners by asking the teacher for help.
  2. —How does he study for a test?
  —He studies for a test by working with a group.
  3. What about reading aloud to practice pronunciation?
  4. Having conversations with friends in English really improves my speaking skills.
  5. Read quickly to get the main ideas at first.
  6. Try to guess a word’s meaning by reading the sentences before and after it.
  7. Be patient! The more you read, the faster you’ll be.
  8. Don’t read word by word. Read word groups.

  二、补充句子
  将所学本单元的重点单词、短语揉到平时常见、常用的句子结构中。编出10个相对较规范的句子让学生背诵,为书面表达写正确的句子奠定良好的基础。
  如第9册第一单元有重要的短语:做笔记take notes, 可以与句型had better do/not do sth. 搭配起来连成句子:You’d better take grammar notes carefully in class. 或者与句式decide to do sth.搭配使用。如:My elder brother decides to take notes in English classes because he needs to get better grades. 等等。
  这样将本单元所学的重点内容与本单元或以往所学重要句型搭配使用,让学生不仅可以熟练掌握正在学习的重点内容,而且巩固了所学的重要句子,达到了灵活运用、举一反三的目的。
  三、连句成篇
  在学完一个单元时,可以给学生由几个句子组成的段落来背诵、默写。然后进入书面表达。
  如第8册(下)第二单元是志愿者活动的内容,我们给学生的范文如下:
  I am a volunteer in saving the Environment Club of my school. Last Saturday, I did some volunteer work with other volunteers.
  Some of us put up posters. Some handed out advertisements. Others swept the streets. We also helped clean up the city parks. When we finished all the work, we were very tired but felt very happy at the same time.
